USports Rugby Season Kicks Off; UVic @ UBC This Weekend; Week 1 National Rankings
The USport women’s rugby season has kicked off and this year the fall championship tournament is in Victoria, from November 2nd to November 6th.
Teams out East have already played a game with defending champions, and #1 ranked Queen’s, defeating York University 105-0. Queen’s won’t have Sophie de Goede this year but they have another BC player, Maggie Banks, who scored 3 tries in the win.
In the Western Conference Calgary defeated Lethbridge 36-17 last Friday, and this upcoming Saturday will see #2 ranked UBC host #6 UVic.
