Head Coach of Canada’s Women’s Rugby Team Kevin Rouet has selected 31 players for the Rugby Rematch Tour, presented by Canadian Tire, part of the WXV Global Series. Canada returns home to play in Toronto and Ottawa this October, marking the first time the team will play on home soil since finishing second at the 2025 Rugby World Cup.
The tour will feature Canada, currently ranked third in the world, facing off against world champion England on October 16 at BMO Field in Toronto and October 23 at TD Place in Ottawa. Tickets are available HERE.
“We are very excited to be back in Canada with the chance to play in front of our fans,” said Rouet. “Games on home soil are extra special for the players and staff. Everyone is grinding and working hard to make sure we are at our best when we face England in these next two games. The players were not satisfied with the tie against England last month. We want to prove to everyone that this team is moving in the right direction as we build towards the next world cup in 2029.”
Piper Logan and Caroline Crossley join the squad as the two new additions to the group that played Canada’s first three WXV Global Series Tests last month in Europe against Scotland, England and France. Both Logan and Crossley won silver medals with Canada’s Women’s Sevens Team at the 2024 Paris Olympics. Crossley has 13 caps to her name and started in the back row for Canada in last year’s Rugby World Cup final. Logan, a mainstay for Canada on the HSBC SVNS Series over the last several years, will look to earn her first 15s cap for Canada.
Alysha Corrigan, who was ruled out of Canada’s matches last month due to injury, also returns to the squad, while Rori Wood is back in the Canadian camp for the first time since suffering an injury prior to the 2025 Rugby World Cup.
Sophie de Goede will once again captain the Canadian side, alongside vice-captains Olivia Apps, Justine Pelletier and Alex Tessier.
