Preview of BC Premier Season – 10 Teams Kick Off on October 14th
We had a look at a draft schedule for the BC Premier and it looks like it will be down to 10 teams from 11 with the Rowers not competing in Premier this season. The 10 teams would be:
Mainland
Burnaby
Capilano
Meraloma
UBCOB Ravens
University of British Columbia
Island
Castaway Wanderers
James Bay
Pacific Pride
University of Victoria
Westshore
The Premier season would start October 14th, following the Thanksgiving Weekend on October 7th. The four weekends before that September 9th to 30th would focus on regional play including the U20 competition. The four Academy/University sides, Pacific Pride, UBC, UVic, TWU would play a 6 week, home and away series starting in September.
There would be a bye week on Remembrance Day weekend, November 11th, the winter break would take place from December 2nd to January 27th. There would be a two week break in February for Family Day and then the Vancouver 7s, an Easter break in March. The playoffs would start April 20th and the finals weekend would be on May 4th. It appears they’re going back to the 3v6 and 4v5 format with 1&2 getting a bye in the first round.
We’ll provide updates when the schedule is finalized and published.
