It was Ravens by +11 in a close encounter. Next weekend’s final will see the two top teams in the league during the regular season battle it out, Ravens v Meralomas.

PREGAME

#1 vs #5 in the regular season standings. The Ravens won both regular season matchups, +29 on April 6th and +18 on October 21st.

The Ravens have 2 changes to the starting lineup, Sam Walton-Sexton starts at scrum half instead of Billy Wickham and Nicholas Blain returns to his usual fullback position. The Ravens crushed #3 Burnaby by +61 in their last match and finished the season with a 12-1 record.

UBC have only one change to the starting lineup with Emmett Allen getting the nod ahead of Tate Hartley at hooker. UBC have finished the season on a strong note defeating CW twice in a row, the second win to confirm their place in the semi-finals. They had a 6-7 record in the regular season.

The Ravens go in as favourites having won both regular season matchups and finishing top of the league.

Prediction: Ravens by 7.

Meraloma 38 v Westshore 5 @ 15:00
Referee: Bradley Schwalger AR1: Kristine Lovatt AR2: Riley Robinson
Venue: Klahanie Park

This semi-final result was more emphatic with a +33 win for the Lomas. A strong defensive effort limited Westshore  to one try. The Ravens v Lomas final should be a top game with each side claiming a win during the regular season

PREGAME

#2 hosting #6. The Lomas won the head to head regular season match by a narrow +2 back in October. The match is being held at Klahanie Park, home of the Capilano, so Connaught Park must be unavailable this weekend.

The Lomas have made a number of changes since their last match, a +24 win against Capilano. Jalan Farris returns to the roster to captain the side from #8. Giovanni Guizetti moves to second row. Doug Fraser gets the start at inside centre and Louis Whelan returns to the roster to claim the starting #15.

Westshore have made one change to the starting lineup that upset Burnaby in the quarter-finals. Darian Morrison gets the start at inside centre with Liam Clark moving to the reserves.

The Lomas go in as favourites finishing the season with only one loss and a 12-1 record, Westshore had an up and down season finishing 5-7 but came up big last week to upset Burnaby and qualify for the semis. Losing home field advantage may be a factor but how much will it affect the result?

Prediction: Lomas by 6.
