The tournament includes national teams from across Central America as well as touring teams from Canada and USA. The tournament takes place on October 18th and 19th. It’s the second consecutive year the Howlers have attended the tournament.
The Howlers motto is “It’s more than a game, it’s a way of life” and they have toured many countries in the Americas outside of Canada and USA, such as Cuba, Nicaragua, Colombia, Trinidad & Tobagao, Guatemala, Mexico, Barbados. Besides playing rugby the Howlers try to make a positive impact on the communities they travel to, visiting schools and hospices to bring supplies that are needed and in short supply.
Karl Fix, the founder and President of the Howlers, added, “the Howlers experience is about using the game we love as a vehicle to travel to interesting places, embracing their culture while making new friends and experiencing the enormous power in giving to others! It’s the real ‘beautiful game’.”
Angel Gaytán the President of Guatemala Rugby expressed his view on the upcoming tournament, “The staff of Rugby Guatemala has been working during the whole year to be ready to receive Howlers and the other guests. The party of Guatemalan rugby awaits!!”
