BC Win Canada Summer Games Gold in Rugby 7s: Outscoring Opponents 232-17 Over 3-Day Tournament
BC dominated at the Canada Summer Games Rugby 7s winning the Gold medal final 38-0 over Quebec. In the Bronze match Ontario defeated Nova Scotia 20-15.

The Celebration of Life for Bucky Ellison will be held at the Capilano Rugby Club on Saturday August 13, 2022 at 1:00pm. Please pass the date and time on to all those who knew Bucky. Dress for the event is “Summer Casual”. Speeches will be made from the main field with all the guests in the grandstands. We hope to see a large turnout of Capilano members to pay tribute to a Capilano Legend.

BC Win U19 Canadian Rugby Championships with 4-0 Record: Defeat Quebec 27-10 in Final Match

A good result for BC as they maintain their strong winning record at the U19 level. At least six of the BC players will continue on next weekend for Canada U20 as they host Zimbabwe, Chile and Uruguay.

Rugby Canada finally issued a press release on the tournament they’re hosting in nine days. They also named the Canada squad selected for the tournament.

The 2022 Western Canada Championships made a successful return to the calendar after three thrilling days of Age-Grade Rugby wrapped up at Parkinson Recreation Park in Kelowna, BC.
Kelowna Summerfest Rugby 7s 2022
San Capri Marlins Win Elite Division of Kelowna 7s Defeating BC Bears and UBCOB Ravens
The Kelowna Rugby 7s put on an entertaining event that had both a social and elite component. There were only 3 teams in the Elite division as the touring British side had travel issues according to the live stream commentary. The three teams were BC Bears, San Capri Marlins and UBCOB Ravens. The teams were evenly matched in playing strength although BC went in as favourites based on reputation. The Marlins came out as surprise winners and defeated BC 17-7 in the final.

South Africa and Australia Claim Gold in Men’s and Women’s 7s: Canadian Women Finish 4th and Canadian Men 7th/8th
The Canadian men and women put in strong performances in their last matches of the tournament, however both ended up in losses.
