VICTORIA -The University of Victoria is delighted to announce Scott Manning as the new head coach of the Vikes men’s rugby program, effective June 28, 2021. Manning will take the reins from long-time head coach Doug Tate who is retiring after 27 years.
Castaway Wanderers is seeking a Head coach for its Senior Womens program for the upcoming 2021/22 season. The CW womens program was established in the 2015/2016 season.

Kieran Crowley has been named the coach of Italy after putting in his time with the Italian PRO 14 club Benetton since 2016. Crowley was the Canada coach prior to that, he ended his term with Canada shortly after the 2015 Rugby World Cup. If you need a reminder of that fiasco, where he was rehired on a 2 year term but then he declined the offer and went to Italy, here’s the article from Jan 6, 2016.

I have to admit when I started BCRN in 2005, I occasionally got the spellings mixed up. Which was Tait and which was Tate again? It didn’t take me long to figure it out. They were (and are) two of my favourite rugby people to meet along the sidelines. They both exuded an honesty and warmth and I was usually met with a wry smile as they anticipated some questions from the “press”.
