In the Premier preseason it was Westshore defeating CW 28-17 to take the Gerwing Shield a challenge trophy between the Island teams. They’ll defend it next weekend against James Bay. On the mainland, according to BCRU reported scores, it was Meraloma dominating Ravens 48-7 and Burnaby over Capilano 31-19. Burnaby are 2-0 in the preseason defeating both Capilano and Meraloma. Next weekend sees Burnaby host the Ravens, Lomas hosting the Caps and Westshore hosting the Bays. Those games are scheduled to kickoff at 2:30pm.
UPDATE: The Pride look destined to repeat as Coastal Cup champions this year with a resounding win over a young UBC side, 80-19. At Trinity Western it was UVic pulling away at the end to win 45-14. The TWU match was live streamed on the Rugby Network and was well done, congrats to TWU on the production.

I’m writing in hopes that you will share the following fund me for one of our BC fellow Rugby alumni https://gofund.me/e8de763b
Lisa Oehler, affectionately known as Skippy to all of her rugby community is one of the original members of the Meraloma Women’s Rugby team. Sadly, she is losing her battle with cancer and will be leaving behind a 7 year old daughter and loving husband who has had to stop work to care for her. We have launched the go fund me to raise as many dollars as possible, so they can spend their last valuable days and months together.
It would be immensely helpful if you could share this go fund me on your platform. Our family is big fans of BC rugby news, and we have been following you for years.
Thank you for the consideration.
Cheers in sport, Nicole
