With one week left in the season the playoff teams have been confirmed. In the West LA, Austin and Houston are in the playoffs, in the East New England, Atlanta and New York are in the playoffs. New England have locked up 1st place in the East and will get a 1st round bye in the playoffs. In the West LA and Austin are in a battle for top spot, LA host Seattle and Austin visit Houston in Week 18.
There are 3 weeks left in the regular season, the top 3 teams in each division go into the playoff round with the 1st place team getting a bye into the division final.
May 13
New England Free Jacks 15 v Rugby ATL 10 @ Veterans Memorial Stadium
New England are 1st in the East and have already qualified for the playoffs. Josh Larsen starts at second row.
Atlanta are 3rd in the East. Matt Heaton starts at openside and Cole Davis gets his first start for Atlanta on the wing. Conor Keys is in the reserves.
May 7
New England Free Jacks 26 v Old Glory DC 20 @ Veterans Memorial Stadium
New England are 1st in the East. Josh Larsen starts at second row, Reegan O’Gorman is in the reserves.
Old Glory are 6th in the East. Luke Campbell starts at #8 and Doug Fraser gets the start on the wing.
Doug Fraser scored two tries for DC.
April 30
Rugby ATL 19 v LA Giltinis 31 @ Silverbacks Park
Atlanta are 2nd in the East. Matt Heaton starts at openside flanker, Conor Keys is in the reserves.
LA are 2nd in the West. Corey Thomas starts at blindside flanker, Ben LeSage is outside centre. Lindsey Stevens is reserve hooker.
Matt Heaton scored a try for Atlanta.
April 23
Houston SaberCats 29 v Toronto Arrows 17 @ Aveva Stadium
Houston are 5th in the West. There are no Canadians in the roster.
Toronto are 3rd in the East. Keith and Quattrin are in the front row, Sheppard and Ciulini second row, Rumball and O’Neill loose forwards. Di Nardo is scrum half, Richardson, Sheridan, Voralek the back three. Spencer Jones is outside centre, 11 Canadian in the starting XV. On the bench McRogers, Rowland, Wadden, Vikilani, McRorie, du Toit.
April 15
Old Glory DC 22 v Utah Warriors 21 @ Segra Field 5pm PT
DC are last in the East at 0-9. Luke Campbell starts at #8 and Jake Ilnicki is in the reserves at prop.
April 9
Toronto Arrows 32 v Old Glory DC 27 @ York Lions Stadium 9am PT
Toronto are 4th in the East at 4-4. It’s an all Canadian front row this week with Keith, McRogers and Rowland. Second row is Mike Sheppard and Paul Ciulini, loose forward Kyle Baillie and James O’Neill. Riley de Nardo starts at scrum half, an all Canadian backline with du Toit, Richardson in the centres, Voralek and Sheridan on the wings and McCann at fullback. A season high 13 Canadian starters. On the bench Quattrin, Rumball, Nott, McRorie, Jones, Kelly.
