BC Rugby (BCRU) have revisited their interpretation of the viaSport “Progressively Loosen” phase and have now projected a “low-contact” version of rugby for January 2021. There’s no change to the “non-contact” club mandate for the rest of 2020.

National Coach Kingsley Jones Invites 36 Players to Three Week High Performance Camp in BC: 34 of 36 Have Played in the BC Premier League

[ed. when we listed the 34 players from the BC Premier, we only listed each player once starting with the universities, then the clubs. Some players have played for more than one BC Premier club, for example, UVic players Doug Fraser, Jake Ilnicki have also played for CW and Liam Murray and Conor Keys have also played for James Bay.]

The men’s national team will bring together 36 domestic based players for a high performance camp in Langford, BC from from November 9th to 29th.

Rugby From Cradle to Grave – Not in Canada Eh: Player Affected by Rugby Canada Age Restriction on Insurance is Organizing Class Action Suit Against Rugby Canada and Their Insurers

We ran an article last September explaining the issue, Rugby Canada had changed its insurance so that players over 77+ were no longer eligible to be insured, therefore couldn’t practice or play with their Over 40 teams. The exact wording from the insurance policy was, “”A person’s coverage will end on the earlier of, the date he or she is no longer in an eligible class, on the date that the policy is cancelled, or on the date he or she attains 77 years of age.”
